The Forgotten Field Novel - Chapter 98
## Chapter 98: THE FORGOTTEN FIELDS (NOVEL)
A chill ran down her back.
She lowered her gaze, forcing herself to hide her bewilderment. She herself didn’t know why she had said those words.
Her heart was beating so hard it felt like it would burst at any moment. Thinking that he might hear the sound of her heartbeat gave her goosebumps all over her body.
Seized by panic and not knowing what to do, Talia began to let out whatever words came to her mind.
“It’s horrible just to think about it, right? So stop insisting with that piece of garbage medicine. I’m just saying… that I hate it as much as that…”
The words she blurted out to get through the moment ended up exposing her internal feelings, and she felt the heat rise to her ears. She moistened her dry lips with her tongue.
She felt Varkas, who had been standing still, approach the side of the bed. However, she did not dare to raise her head.
Surely he would have an expression of incredulity. Just a few hours ago she was out of her mind, as if possessed by a demon, and now she was talking nonsense; surely he would have a pale face or perhaps a frigid smile of contempt.
She kept talking incoherently, as if something were chasing her.
“Do you know how bitter that medicine is? Even my stomach hurts after taking it. But since you keep insisting, I said it so you would stop…”
“Talia.”
At the voice that resonated right above her forehead, Talia stopped talking.
Lifting her head awkwardly, her eyes met a gaze that resembled a frozen lake at dawn.
The man, who observed her as if she were a piece of an impossible-to-fit puzzle, said in a low voice:
“I will give it to you, come here.”
Talia blinked, dazed. She couldn’t fully comprehend what she had just heard.
With confused eyes, she looked at the medicine bottle in his hand and then shifted her gaze to his lips, which looked soft. Suddenly, she felt a strange thirst.
She bit her dry lips and looked away.
“I just…”
Just as she was about to stammer that she wasn’t serious and not to take it so solemnly, he opened the cap of the bottle. Talia raised her head, startled.
Those transparent and indecipherable eyes observed her as if confirming his intention; they were eyes that seemed to see through her and, at the same time, see nothing.
With that mineral gaze fixed on her, he brought the bottle to his lips. Talia’s heart skipped a beat.
If she asked him to stop now, at least she could save some of her pride. Hadn’t she fought desperately not to lose at least that? If she lost even that, she would feel like she really was nothing.
“But…”
She looked at him with trembling eyes.
The memory of the day their lips brushed crossed her mind. If giving up a bit of her pride served to confirm what happened that night…
Talia closed her eyes tightly.
Then, a large hand with prominent knuckles wrapped around the back of her neck.
The scent of water and mint, along with the smell of the wind that always made her anxious, brushed the tip of her nose. Shortly after, a membrane steeped in the dense aroma of herbs covered her lips.
Once, those lips only released sharp words that hurt in the chest. As a child, she had even come to think that touching them would be like cutting oneself with a knife. Those lips, which had been so cruel, now shook all her senses.
Talia, unconsciously, grabbed his shirt tightly.
He tilted her head back and pressed his lips harder. Talia, who kept her body rigid, could not resist the pressure on her cheeks and opened her mouth. The concentrated herbal extract flowed over the tip of her tongue.
While she frowned at the bitter taste that seemed to burn the inside of her mouth, a soft tongue forced its way through the mucosa.
Startled by the deep intrusion that seemed to reach her throat, she tried to push his chest, but the muscular mass only receded a little. Without giving her time to breathe a sigh of relief, the sensitive mucosa inside her cheeks was suctioned.
At the unfamiliar stimulus, Talia shrank her neck. The wet tongue changed direction, rubbing her palate before tangling stickily with hers. Her mouth filled with saliva.
The bitter liquid and the saliva of both mixed and flowed down the corner of their lips. Without time to feel embarrassment, the tip of his tongue, now more insistent, deepened again.
Her throat contracted involuntarily, suctioning him. It was the moment when an instinctive movement to swallow transformed into an act that felt terribly lustful.
She let out an erotic groan that she never imagined would come out of her mouth and shuddered. The wet sound of the suction seemed to soak even her eardrums.
Talia, unable to endure the increasingly intense movement, beat her fists against his shoulders, which felt hard as iron.
Finally, their lips parted. A thread of transparent saliva hung suspended between them.
She observed that with trembling eyes before looking up timidly. She met his calm face, which seemed to observe her reaction.
Suddenly, a deep confusion invaded her.
Could that whole sticky act from a moment ago have been just her hallucination? Seeing his expression so serene that it left her frozen, Varkas took the medicine bottle and shook it slightly.
“There is still medicine left.”
His melodious voice, mixed with a slight whisper, stimulated her ears.
Talia opened her eyes wide and then lowered her gaze hurriedly. She could feel a strong pulse in her temples. He approached her ear, demanding one more piece of her pride.
“What do we do with this?”
Talia bit her lips, which were still burning, and looked at the flickering shadows of the fire.
How much time passed with her debating in that suffocating silence? Finally, she nodded her head. However, he showed no reaction.
After hesitating for a moment, Talia forced her voice from her closed throat.
“…Give it to us.”
In an instant, her head was tilted back.
Immediately, the dense liquid filtered into her mouth. As she swallowed it with difficulty, an unpleasant heat traveled down her esophagus.
However, the bitter tingling was washed away instantly by the thick saliva.
Talia tightened her grip on his shirt and let out an agitated sigh.
The hot tongue swam without rest in the narrow space. Due to the force with which he pushed her, her back ended up touching the bed sheets.
Talia looked at him with a frightened face. She wanted to sit up, but she couldn’t pull away from him even for a second.
Varkas, propping one hand on the bed and tilting his torso, continued suctioning her lips.
On his face covered by a dense shadow, only his two eyes shone intensely. She felt as if she were submerged in cold flames. All her senses seemed to melt, but her chest grew cold with anxiety.
“Open your mouth more.”
His wet voice soaked her lips.
With trembling eyes, Talia looked at him and opened her jaw a little wider.
The hot tongue traveled over her own tongue and penetrated near her throat. He stayed there for a while, as if enjoying the sensation of her trying to suction him while panting, before withdrawing slowly.
Her mind clouded at the repetition of the act.
When she turned her head to one side to inhale the scarce air, he grabbed her hair. His long fingers tangled in her mane and pulled with a force that didn’t quite hurt. Even that felt like a chillingly erotic act.
“Varkas…”
In her agitated breathing, a voice that sounded like a plea mixed in.
She didn’t even know what she was asking for. Looking at him with wet eyes, she saw his slightly distorted gaze. His palm, somewhat rough, caressed her neck soaked in sweat.
Suddenly, a terrifying curiosity arose.
“Has he touched other people this way?”
The image of him kissing Aila crossed her mind. The thought that he would have also laid her on the bed and suctioned her lips tormented her.
Just as she had yielded to his demands without objection, he would have responded in silence to the other woman’s demands.
Because to him, these kinds of acts probably meant nothing.
To her, it was an event that turned her world upside down, but to him, it really would be nothing.
“…Why are you crying?”
He released the lips he was biting and asked in a grave voice.
His thumb, with calluses, caressed the area beneath her eyes. Talia hid her pupils under her eyelashes.
“…I’m tired. I want to sleep now.”
Varkas, furrowing his brow, stood up slowly. He looked so serene that it was hard to believe that a moment ago he was greedily exploring someone else’s mouth.
He walked toward the window and opened it wide. The fresh, humid air displaced the heat floating in the room.
Talia observed his profile submerged in the darkness and then turned to the opposite side and closed her eyes.
Her mind gradually clouded.
“When I open my eyes tomorrow, will I think today was a dream again?”
While having those vague thoughts, Talia did not take long to submerge into unconsciousness.
—
“I have ordered absolute silence, so last night’s unfortunate incident will not leak.”
Varkas, who was patting Tork while the latter snorted loudly, looked at the lord of Dorkane Castle.
The man curled the corners of his lips and continued speaking lightly.
“By the way, you really have taken an incredible wife. Where did she get such a fierce temperament with that angel-like appearance…?”
“Uzan Darken.”
Noticing the warning tone imbued in his voice, the man closed his mouth immediately.
Varkas added with indifference:
“It would be better if you started by controlling your own mouth.”
